BIOGRAPHY

Professional activity

Ivan's musical training was accompanied also after a few years by an intense activity of live concerts, almost a thousand. There are many collaborations with cover groups and songwriters, as well as concerts in clubs, squares, theaters, palaces. All this led Ivan to be subjected to a hard school on repertoires of hundreds of songs, and in some situations even improvised repertoires directly live. For a summary, only the most relevant situations will be mentioned: in 2009 he had the pleasure of being on tour with Aida Cooper (vocalist of L. Bertè, Zucchero, E. Ramazzotti etc.) and with Kim (lead voice of the Cousins of Countryside). In 2010 he was on tour with Michele Pecora (singer and author,  the best known: "Era lei") and Antonella Ruggiero (Dionira). From 2011 to 2020 he collaborated with the Italian Bee Gees with whom he embarked on 8 European tours from 2012 to 2019, with about 340 concerts in theaters, auditoriums, sports halls (Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Austria, France, Spain, Holland). He has the honor of playing, in this formation, with some of the Bee Gees historical musicians such as Blue Weaver on keyboards, Dennis Bryon on drums and Vince Melouney on guitar. He produced three live records with IBG and recorded guitars for several independent artists. In 2016 he released his first instrumental EP "Looking Higher". In 2018 he released the acoustic album "Bee Gees on my guitar". Since 2014 he has been among the Artist KPA Kemper profiler Amp and since 2017 for Elektron on behalf of Sound Wave Distribution . He is currently a guitar teacher and director at the Roxy Music music school in Rome.

Training

Guitarist born in 1982 began to play classical guitar at the age of 10 as a self-taught. At 14 he was given his first electric guitar, and from there his already passionate passion will become an irresistible search for improvement. By ear, note by note, listening to the discs in audio cassettes he learns songs by Dire Straits, Santana, Queen, blues songs etc. with infinite patience and dedication to reproduce every little nuance of the guitar parts. After a few years he experienced his hard rock teenage moment, becoming passionate about guitarists like Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Greg Howe, Paul Gilbert, Andrea Braido. This led him to an extraordinary technical improvement but also to the awareness that everything he had learned by imitation had to have a theoretical explanation. From there the decision to take guitar lessons with Gianluca Chiarella at the West Point Records of Cosenza and privately with Bruno Marrazzo. He learns theory and harmony and this leads him to deepen musical genres with more complex harmonic mechanisms such as jazz and fusion. Listen starts mainly for Joe Pass, Barney Kessel, Stanley Jordan, Lee Ritenour, Robben Ford and jazz standards played by the main artists on the world stage. He learns to play fingerstyle in the style of Tuck Andress, until he knows one of the guitarists who will influence him stylistically most of all: Larry Carlton. The need to expand his knowledge for everything around music leads him to enroll in the faculty of Music, Entertainment, Sound Sciences and Technologies (VV) from which he will come out with a first level academic diploma with a final grade of 110 and praise. He later moved to Rome to attend Saint Louis Music College and to obtain a diploma in rock / blues guitar after 4 years, therefore one year earlier than the program that included 5. During his training he also received influences from genres such as funk, country, national and international pop. All of this was mixed naturally and spontaneously, gradually developing Ivan's current style.
